What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an innovative alternative healthcare model improving access to high quality functioning healthcare with a simple, flat, affordable membership fee. No fee-for-service payments. No third-party billing or interference from third parties, like insurance companies.

DPC is all about the relationship between you and your provider. The defining element of DPC is an enduring and trusting relationship between a patient and his or her primary care provider. Patients have extraordinary access to their provider.

Third parties do not tell the provider how long to visit with patients, what tests to order, or what medications to prescribe.

How does DPC work?

A direct primary care office does not deal with health insurance. You pay a membership fee once a month for an enhanced patient experience. The memberships are like subscriptions. When you’re sick, you call us, and we will see you the same day or next. We’re also here to help you proactively maintain good overall health, and “Stay Healthy!”

Every visit with us will be thorough and relaxed to address your health concerns. The longer you’re our patient, the more we learn about your health and lifestyle, and the better we can help you maintain that health, “to maintain the healthiest you” In a DPC office, patients communicate with their provider directly and regularly.

What are the membership fees?

We charge a flat monthly fee of $65 and in exchange you get unlimited office visits, wholesale prices on prescription medication, your doctor’s cell phone number, and a whole lot more.

What if I decide to cancel?

You can cancel at any time.

We expect to have an open, honest, respectful relationship with you. At Stay Healthy our DPC membership is all about the relationship between you and your provider. If you have voiced a complaint that we cannot satisfy together, we will gladly allow you to terminate your membership.

Can I contact my provider after hours?

YES! Access is one of the greatest benefits of the direct primary care model. Because illness and injury do not respect regular office hours, you may call, text, or email us whenever you need.

Do you accept insurance?

No, fortunately for both you and us at Stay Healthy we do not accept insurance for general medical care services or primary care services.

I don’t have insurance. Can I still join?

YES! We take care of any patient regardless of your insurance situation.

However, we recommend that everyone have insurance coverage, which is still important in the event of a major health issue.

Will I still need insurance?

No, you do not need insurance to join. It is recommended that everyone have insurance coverage in the event of a major health issue. Patients should purchase health insurance to cover, at a minimum unpredictable and catastrophic expenses.

Stay Healthy strongly encourages the Patient to maintain health insurance during the term of Membership Agreements to cover services that are not provided under this Membership Agreement.

Is my membership tax deductible?

Unfortunately, no. Your retainer is not yet defined as a “medical expense” in most states and as such is not deductible. Please confer with your tax consultant to clarify tax consequences for your circumstances.
